Learning doesn’t stop when you graduate from college! Throughout your career you will continuously need to sharpen your skills, learn new things, and forge new relationships.

Professional development is the attainment of skills, knowledge, and connections required for career advancement.  It is the learning "choices" you make that ultimately will determine the direction and success of your career.  With professional development you decide what to learn and there is no graduation date.  Life-long learning is crucial to achieving success in the fast-paced and ever-changing world of accounting and finance.

During this session, you will learn best practices to enhance your career and life through the development of skills and expansion of your network.

Program Learning Objectives:

CPE 2: Integrated Reporting and the Valued Stakeholder by Mary Adams

With its innovative 2017 10-K, Intel joined an emerging worldwide trend toward integrated thinking and reporting. This movement is bringing systems thinking to reporting, strategy and management. Its core ideas provide a path to considering the needs and contributions of multiple stakeholders in a company’s value creation over both the short and long term.

In this session, Mary Adams, the founder of the Integrated Reporting U.S. Community will explain the roots of the movement and patterns of adoption in the U.S. She will introduce the basic concepts that support integrated thinking and reporting. The presentation will include examples of the approaches taken by other companies in the U.S. The goal is to help you understand how integrated thinking creates opportunities for fresh thinking and better results.

You will learn to:

  • Explain the two fundamental trends driving the rise of integrated reporting
  • Apply the three basic concepts behind integrated models
  • Identify opportunities for applying integrated thinking in your own work
