Learning objectives: 

  1. Participants will gain a general understanding of various new partnership matters, including partnership audit rules and 2019 Schedule K-1 reporting requirements.
  2. Participants will be exposed to various state and local tax matters with an emphasis on Wayfair case and potential impacts to businesses.
  3. Participants will be provided an overview of tax considerations from businesses adopting ASC 606 revenue recognition standards.

 Sarah Hoyt is a Tax Senior with Deloitte Tax LLP’s Multistate Tax practice in Phoenix. She specializes in state income and franchise tax and has been with the firm for over 4 years. Her areas of focus include state nexus analysis, apportionment opportunities, and state income filing positions across a wide variety of industries including real estate, restaurants, investment management, and technology. 

 Daniel Ponce is a Tax Senior with Deloitte Tax LLP’s Multistate Indirect Tax practice in Phoenix. Mr. Ponce specializes in multistate sales and use taxes with over twelve years of experience in indirect tax.

Maile Hoffman is a Tax Manager in the Deloitte Phoenix office. She is in the Core Business Tax Services practice within Deloitte Tax, skilled in both compliance and consulting aspects of business issues.

Maile began her career with Deloitte Tax in the spring of 2013. She has served a wide variety of clients since joining Deloitte, including multinational publicly traded and privately held corporations, closely held businesses and high net-worth individuals.

Maile graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Accountancy and a Master of Taxation from Arizona State University. She is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Arizona.

Christy Kiser is a Tax Senior in the Core Business Tax Services practice at the Deloitte Phoenix office.  She is involved in consulting and compliance for various clients.

Christy began her career in industry working in sales and use tax department. In 2015 Christy moved to public accounting. She recently joined Deloitte in July of 2019. During her time in public accounting she has primarily focused on privately held businesses, real estate and high net-worth individuals.

Christy graduated from Grand Canyon University with a Bachelor of Accountancy in 2014 and a Masters of Accountancy from Grand Canyon University in 2016. She is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Arizona.

Will Stemple is a Tax Consultant in the Deloitte Phoenix office. He is in the Core Business Tax Services practice within Deloitte Tax and serves a variety of clients in multiple industries.

Before beginning his career with Deloitte, Will graduated with a Bachelor of Accountancy and a Master of Taxation from Arizona State University.
