Session 1 - 5:00 - 5:50 - 401 West Van Buren, Phoenix - Plant Tour: The Van Buren, a concert venue in historic downtown Phoenix. During this session you will see a historic building that has been renovated to its original luster and charm and is now an active working concert venue that is just one more piece of the giant puzzle of the renovation of historic downtown Phoenix. You will find out what it takes to renovate a building of this type, and how to put a working business into this building.
Session 2 - 6:20 - 7:10 - 345 West Van Buren, Phoenix - Plant Tour: State 48 Brewery and Brewpub, historic downtown Phoenix's newest brewery. Located in the historic Welnick Marketplace Building, built in 1927, this building also has been renovated to its original luster and charm. During this session you will see the inter-workings of a brewery, how to make beer, and all about the ingredients.
Session 3 - 7:10 - 8:00 - 345 West Van Buren, Phoenix - Speaker Program: State 48 Brewery and Brewpub. During dinner we will hear Jim Kuykendall, CPA and retired CFO of Bar-S Foods will tell us about his newest venture - purchasing and renovating historic buildings in downtown Phoenix. During this session you will learn about the historic building renovation process, government grants, permits and inspections, and renovation tax credits.
